This project is a Wicked-inspired event poster that I created using original illustration and custom type. I made the hands the main focal point, adding detail and texture to show both the connection and tension between the characters. The glowing green background is a nod to the Emerald City, using soft gradients and light to create a magical vibe without overpowering the figures. My goal was to blend illustration and typography in a way that felt expressive, balanced, and visually interesting.

I’m really proud of how this turned out. I spent hours making sure Glinda’s hand didn’t look like a blob and tweaking Elphaba’s nails until they felt just right. Honestly, placing the type and building the background was even harder. I didn’t want anything to compete with the hands, so a lot of the process was about restraint and finding the right balance. In the end, it feels dramatic, clean, and true to the energy of Wicked.
