The Progress

Lucky Publishing Logo & Brand

This week I had to invent a company, and the name did not come to me until Megan Moroney released her new album, Cloud 9. Her first album is called Lucky, and that is how Lucky Publishing was born.

I thought coming up with the name took forever, but the design process somehow took even longer. I spent hours racking my brain and scrolling through Pinterest, hoping inspiration would magically appear.

Ironically, the first real idea hit me right as I was about to fall asleep. I sketched it super fast on Snapchat so I would not forget it overnight, then spent the entire next day refining it in Illustrator, only to end up hating it and scrapping the whole thing. The next morning, though, the final design just came to me. It did not look like anything I had made before, but I instantly knew it was perfect.

Once the logo was done, everything else fell into place. The logo felt sophisticated and simple, so I built the entire Lucky brand around that same vibe. I scrolled through Adobe Fonts until I found the perfect accent typeface, then landed on a color palette after browsing coolors.com. By the end, I finally had a clear vision for the brand, and I am really happy with how it turned out.
