This project was created for my Graphic Design I class. We were given the photos and copy, but the entire layout was up to me. One of the biggest challenges was finding creative ways to fit all the text into smaller, unique spaces while still keeping everything readable and visually balanced. I also had to experiment a lot with different InDesign layouts to see what worked best.
This was the first project I completed in the class—and my first real experience using Adobe InDesign. Since the content was provided, the focus was all about layout, hierarchy, and consistency rather than creating everything from scratch. I was still learning how to build grids, use paragraph and character styles, and manage multi-page spreads, so there was definitely a learning curve.
Looking back, this project feels like a starting point for me. It’s where I began figuring out how to balance text and images, make more intentional design decisions, and grow comfortable using InDesign as a real design tool rather than just a new program.
